Greek Chicken and Rice Amazon Shopping List

Essential Ingredients for this easy meal.

Looking for the original recipe? You can find that here.

Olive Oil – I go for the more bang for my buck when buying olive oil these days. It used to be I cared more about the flavor profile, region, how it might affect my dish…but now I buy the purest and cheapest olive oil I can afford and I cut it with canola in my own bottle at home. That’s right! Anytime you see “olive oil” listed as an ingredient, I am over here cheating at home by mixing oils in my own jar. You can too. No one will know. Your family can’t tell. And you will be a hero.

Family Pack Chicken Thighs – I’m not going to lie. My family lives off these packages of chicken. Well, not these because they are convenient and come right to your door, which means they cost more than I would want to spend. But, if your struggle is more convenience and time, having them purchased and shipped from Amazon may just be the ticket for you. They are less than 1/2 the cost if you go to the store. We have Woodmans here in Madison, WI, and there I will pay from $8-12 for a similar package. It’s the perfect cut for just about everything.

Kosher Salt – This is an absolute essential. I keep a small bowl of this next to my stove at all times. Sprinkle generously wherever it’s needed.

Red Onion – Again, you are paying for the simplicity, but how easy to have all the ingredients ready to go. There are also always options to purchase this in bulk.

Zucchini – For just $1, this could be yours~

Grape Tomatoes

Kalamata Olives – I think I have spent more time than the average person overthinking my purchase when buying these beautiful Greek olives. I have never tasted one I didn’t like, but for some reason I will find myself scrutinizing every little jar once I am at the store. Don’t overthink it, and if needed, this can be fore-goed(I don’t think that is actually a word).

Feta – This is pre-crumbled so it takes the work of chopping out for you! 1/2 this container is all you will need for this meal.

Long Grain Rice

Greek Yogurt – this can also be substituted with plain regular yogurt or sour cream.

Fresh Dill – You can substitute dried dill here without any major flavor changes.

Lemon Juice

*Now putting all these items in your Amazon cart would probably make a pretty pricey meal on it’s own, however that is why meal planning is essential. You aren’t buying just one meal of olive oil, rice, feta, chicken, salt, yogurt…well you get the idea. So, stay tuned for the new meal plan and shopping lists coming soon.

I think it goes without saying, if you were to buy a product from the list above I would make a small amount of money to support my family and keep cooking.

xoxo
