- Make Copies of Your Passport, and Scan and email a copy to your phone
- Make Sure you have a valid international driver’s license (This can be obtained through AAA)
- Make sure you have travel insurance (check out worldnomads.com)
- Make sure you have a credit card in case of emergency
- Make sure you have outlet converters
- Make sure your itinerary is updated for friends and family
- Make sure you have confirmed your flight, and know the carry-on restrictions
- Make sure you have confirmed your lodging for your first few nights
- Make sure you have memorized important phone numbers in case of phone loss/theft
- Make sure you know local emergency numbers where you are going
- Make sure you know important phrases in the language of the place you are visiting like ” Where is the bathroom” “Please” and “Thank you”
- Make sure you know what you can and can’t bring with you on your flight
- Make sure you have enough of any medications you take, and pictures of any drugs you might need to buy when you are there (since the language barrier may make communicating difficult, having a photo with you can help make sure you get what you are looking for)
- Research dress codes, and make sure you are dressing in a way that’s respectful to the place you are going.
- Make sure you have your emergency contact marked in your phone.
